History & Philosophy

FC Pride is lead by Director of Coaching Pete Kapsalis who brings over 30 years of playing, coaching, and teaching experience. Kapsalis has coached high school state champions and was a 6-time winner of the Coach of the Year award for Indiana High School Soccer Coaches Association. Having coached at the college and professional levels, he currently serves as the assistant coach for the Olympic Development Program’s Region II ’91 boys team and is a member of the ODP Senior Staff. He also coached the IUPUI Metros to a District 21 NAIA Championship. Coach Kapsalis holds the USSF National A License and the National Youth License. He earned his degree from Michigan State University.

FC Pride is committed to providing developmentally appropriate environments for all levels of players. Our experienced and nationally certified professional staff ensures that each club player receives appropriate instruction, quality leadership, and exposure to valuable life lessons. Our premier teams participate in an intense winter training program and a rigorous league schedule which is complimented by prestigious tournament play. Our travel program ensures a structured, challenging, and fun environment for players who wish to learn the game of soccer while competing at a high level. Travel teams also engage in a structured winter training program and participate in appropriate leagues and tournaments.

Additional benefits offered by FC Pride include: The College Assistance Program, a parent education and awareness program, functional fitness, agility, and speed training, an intense coaches education program, summer European tours for high school aged players, and the opportunity to participate in the Indiana/Region II Olympic Development Program.

FC Pride is proud to be a leader in the soccer world as we continue to challenge ourselves to provide for our members and our community. FC Pride has a great relationship with the City of Lawrence and strives to give back to its community through school programs and area beautification projects which further establish it as a model club in the country.

Based at Lawrence Park, in the City of Lawrence, the club utilizes the 21-field complex for all of its events including training, home matches, and tournaments. Lawrence Park has been the site for the 2002, 2003, and 2004 Indiana State Cups, the 2003 and 2004 USYSA National League Director’s Cup, the 2000 USYSA Regional Tournament, USYSA 2001 National Tournament and the US Club Region D Championship in 2007 and 2008.

FC Pride hosts two tournaments each year, the Red Lion Invitational in April and FC Pride Cup in October.
