Super Y League

The Super Y League is joint program with Fort Wayne Fever and FC Pride Soccer. The program is administrated by Fort Wayne Fever.

This program is by invitation only. FC Pride Soccer Club Directors and Team Coaches select the players ( Ages U13-U17) to be considered for this program.

Super Y League – 2008 Information

1.What is the Super Y League (SYL)?

a.SYL is a United Soccer Leagues (USL) sanctioned league with the regular season held during the summer and the post season (for teams that qualify) held in Tampa, FL in mid November.

b.This is an opportunity to play in a highly competitive league against other USL teams/clubs which will improve the overall level of each individual, as well as the team as a whole.

c.The Fort Wayne Fever Academy coaching staff will lead the minicamp and weekly training sessions and coach all SYL games for the 2008 season.

2.What are the objectives?

a.Provide additional opportunities for greater competition for our players.

b.Exposure to Super Y ODP staff to gain greater recognition for the individual players.

c.Opportunity to win regional and national titles for greater level of competition and visibility.

d.Provide opportunities for college recruiting visibility for our players

e.Work with our supporting clubs (FC Pride, Dynamo, Blast FC, GTFC, and Indiana Invaders) to field highly competitive teams to compete for Divisional, Regional, and National titles.

3.What will the Fort Wayne Fever Academy provide to the participating players?

a.Will provide a minimum of 5 games.

b.Will provide 1 training session per week.

c.A pre-season mini camp for 3 days.

d.Uniform package to include 2 Super Y t-shirts and a pair of shorts.

e.Opportunity to be selected for Super Y ODP teams

f.Affiliation with USL provides opportunity to be eligible for the Fever PDL or W-league teams.

g.Participation with SYL teams is required to participate with Fever PDL or W-league teams.

4.What is the cost?

a.Total cost is broken down as follows:

Ø$50 non refundable signing fee due with acceptance of offer by February 28th.

ØFinal payment of $325 paid in full by March 15th.

ØTotal cost: $375 (excluding individual travel costs).

ØAdditional per player fee of $100 for teams that qualify for SYL Nationals.

5.When and where is the mini-camp, the weekly training sessions and the games?

a.The 3 day minicamp will be held in mid to late June to prepare for league play.

b.The minicamp and weekly training sessions will be held at Hefner Fields (The Plex).

c.The season is late June through late July and games can be scheduled on any weekends and some weekdays.

d.There will be 3 league play weekends in Fort Wayne and 1 travel weekend with a possibility of weekday games. Travel locations will most likely be 1 of the following: Cleveland, Chicago, and/or Kalamazoo.
